Suggest an idea for a new standard
If you know of an area or aspect of your industry that would benefit from standardization and have an idea for a new standard, you can submit a proposal to us through our New Proposal System. Simply [Log in] or [Register], click on the Suggest a New Standard button on the toolbar at the top of the page, fill out the online form and click on the submit button at the end.
BSI welcomes all suggestions and every proposal that we receive online will be considered by a panel of experts. At this stage your suggested proposal will only be visible to BSI staff and experts. You might be contacted if clarification is needed regarding your submission or to enquire whether you would be interested in further involvement with the proposal. If considered suitable, your suggestion could be used as the basis for a formal standardization proposal for a British Standard, international or European standard, or Publicly Available Specification (PAS). If this proposal is accepted, it will go on to be developed by a BSI technical committee and become a published standard.
Please note that not all suggestions become standards or formal standardization proposals.
